Rose went back to her bed across the dorm room. Lily and I got under the covers of her bed. In a moment we were all dozing.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Even though it was the girls' room, it was easiest for me to pull on some pants. I opened the door. There was a tiny Indian woman there. She was only about five feet. At first I thought she was a child, but her nicely sized breasts disabused me of that idea. She was wearing a beaded top and a silk skirt with pretty orange and brown Indian print. I assumed she was a friend of Rose or Lily and opened the door. She stepped into the room.

"I'm Indira. I'm here raising money," the Indian girl said.

"For what?" Lily said. Since both girls were naked under the covers, I could sense that they weren't entirely comfortable having what seemed to be a stranger in the room.

"It's a NGO that does work in very poor Indian villages." The girl didn't have a trace of Indian accent.

"Were you born over there?" I asked.

"No. Here."
