The Waitress

Tamika didn't say anything else about the waitress from the day we met Bill at the diner, but I knew it was on her mind. She may have been a little jealous, but she didn't let it show, and I knew she wasn't mad that she caught me looking, because she only mentioned it once.

It has been a few weeks since we last were at the diner, so we decided to have lunch there. We didn't see the waitress when we went in, so we assumed that she wasn't working, neither of us admitted we were looking for her, but we both looked around when we walked in. The hostess brought us our drinks, and said our waitress would be with us shortly. We looked over our menus even though we knew what we wanted.

Our waitress came to our table, and we both looked up, then looked at each other and smiled. We looked back up at the waitress and she was smiling back at both of us. She asked how we were, and we said good. She said her name was Amy, and took our order. I didn't order a big meal, just a cheeseburger and fries, Tamika ordered the same with soup. She took the order back to the kitchen, and after a few minutes, Tamika told me she was going to the bathroom. ...
