Wedding Photographs

The sun was warm on my back as I stood fastening the roses against the trellis. Sweat ran from under the brim of my hat and I was as contented as I had been in ages. The ringing of my cell phone, an unwanted intruder, brought the world back into focus.

"Hi John here. Sure no problem, how can I help? Right, right. It will take me an hour or so to get there. Can you ask her to start getting ready? It's best if she sorts herself out before I get there. It will save me time and helps her to get into the correct mood. Her name? Alison, ok got that. No problem, I wasn't doing much."

I put the phone down and glared at the garden, which promised so much. The call had come from a good friend who had been left in the pickle by the cameraman who was supposed to be taking wedding photographs of his niece. I had recently returned from a two-month stint as a cameraman in Iraq and I didn't do weddings!

Loading my bag into the car I mentally ticked off the contents of what I required to take both a video edited and downloaded to DVD as well as an album of stills. Most of the stills I could take from the edit suite, but it would be better to take additional shots with the digital SLR.
