A couple of months ago I had a very exciting experience when some new people moved in next door to my husband and I. They were in their early forties and had an 18 year old son, who happened to be on holidays before going off for his first year at university. Both his parents were out at work all day, so he was left to fend for himself. He didn't seem to have many friends and I often saw him out in the garden doing a bit of tidying up. He seemed to like gardening.

We never got around to speaking, but one morning as I was out putting some washing on the line I had the strange feeling that I was being watched. Sure enough, as I looked out of the corner of my eye I caught sight of Philip in an upstairs bedroom - and he was watching me through a pair of binoculars!
