I had been divorced for about three years when I decided to take an opportunity within my company and move across country for a new beginning. I was able to find a modest home in a suburban cul-de-sac and my life was looking like it was going to get back on track. Just after I moved in, the house next to me went up for sale and Sara and Mike moved in. We were all about the same age and started hanging out at one or another's house or about town.

Everything was going good when things between Sara and Mike began to slowly change. They never said anything, and I didn't ask, but as someone who went through a divorce I could tell what was brewing. It started when Mike would spend an ever increasing amount of time on the road, up to six weeks at a time. He'd be home for as little as a week before heading out again.
