Chapter 1: Interview

I run a large national sales organization. I won't say what we sell, but it is pretty boring stuff and the market is fairly competitive. So I need good salesmen. And yes, it is the sort of product where all the salesforce are men.

One thing I have discovered is that it is hard to decide which people are going to be successful in sales. The senior guys are easy, they have a track record. But it is too expensive only to hire senior people. The junior ones are harder to tell since they are just starting. With all the grade inflation you can't tell much even if they have a great GPA from Harvard or Princeton. One thing I have discovered though is that if they have extremely attractive wives or girlfriends then they tend to be good. Many of the skills needed to get a truly hot girl are the same as are required for success in sales. So with junior people, before I hire them I always interview them with their wives.

But I have another agenda. You might even consider it depraved. I'm not married. I prefer other men's wives. Not just any other men, but the salesmen that work for me. But I'm monogamous. I only like to have one wife at a time. Then, when I get bored, I move on to a new one. I like ...
