When she finished emptying the dishwasher, Barbara Fontaine turned and leaned against the counter. She smiled when she looked at her daughter who was busily crunching her Fruit Loops at the kitchen table. In between mouthfuls of cereal, Patty was telling her mother about the plans she had for the day.

Patty hadn't been this happy and excited in months. She had met a boy last week at her best friend's birthday party. Kayla had introduced her to Zack when he attended the party with her brother Cory.
