"See you next week guys", I said as I waved goodbye at my colleagues. "See you later Jason" they chanted in unison. As we exchanged our pleasant goodbyes, I sat back down at the computer and glanced up at the clock. "4:00pm" it read. I sighed briefly before turning my head back to the computer. All of our scheduled patients had come and gone for the day and being 1 hour to closing time, it was highly unlikely somebody else would come through the door. But rather than closing up and heading off with the others I decided I should stay, being the "good boy" that I was known to be. I had only been a nurse for a year and half, but I was certainly born to do it. I enjoyed taking care of people, I didn't mind the long hours or even the verbal and sometimes physical abuse. I took pride in the job I did, knowing I was helping other people and making their lives a bit brighter. As I stared back at the screen, glancing back and forth between the screen and the clock, I clicked through the patient records, finishing up what few tasks I had left to do. But to my dismay, only 4 minutes had passed when I realised I simply had nothing else to do. I had finished every scrap of work I could find for today and tomorrow and even prepped everything I could think of for the girls coming in next week (I know they'd tease me for it, but I didn't mind).

I paced back and forth near the computer for another few minutes, thinking what I could do next. After drawing nothing but a blank in my mind, I decided it was time for a cup of coffee. I leaned over the chair, logged off the computer and headed out to the nurse's quarters. ...
