A true story. I know, because I was there.

A few years ago, I was very much in love with my boyfriend.

He was a keen bush walker, and he insisted on taking me on long bushwalks that sometimes lasted for 3 or 4 days.

I must admit, as much as I loved being with him, the strenuous our door life wasn't really for me. I guess I was a heck of a lot fitter then!

His name was Travis. Still is I suppose. Oops, sorry about that feeble attempt at humour. We are still in touch with each other occasionally. He's married now with a little daughter. I think that has curtailed his outdoor adventures a lot.

Anyway, This story is true. Every bit of it. Except I have changed names to protect the guilty. Ha ha.

It was mid Summer. The temperature was into the mid 20s cetigrade. And so the story begins. Written in present tense, first person, because I think it flows better that way.
