Catwidow is one of the newest additions to the ES stable, but so far she has proved one of the most prolific. Since the first installment of her five-part debut tale, "The Female Voyeur," was published in mid-September, she has added four further stories, including my own favorite, "Stuck" - "about a wife who get's stuck in her window and receives some help from the neighbor and his son." Catwidow smiles happily. "I do love the feedback I have been getting. It is very encouraging."
Q. Tell us about yourself.
Hmmm, I am originally from Germany, so if my English gets messed up at times, please keep that in mind. I have been married twice and have three kids, 23, 16 and 3 years old.
Q. How and when did you begin writing erotic stories?
I started writing erotic stories about seven years ago, at work, because I was sexually frustrated with my second marriage and needed an outlet. The guys at work read my stories and encouraged me to continue writing.
Q. Have you published anywhere other than ES.com?
No, I haven't, although I don't know for sure, as my earlier stories were stolen and I don't know what happened to them. I had them all written down in two Composition books, now I type them on the computer, for safety.
Q. What is it about writing erotica that you most enjoy?
I can express myself and write about something I love. I also think that some of the readers may come across something that they may want to try out for themselves.
Q. What is your favorite category to write in, and why?
I don't really have a favorite, I like to write about anything that comes to mind. When I submit my story, that's when I worry about what category it should go into.
Q. How much of yourself do you include in your stories?
Well, all the sensations felt are mine, and sometimes there is more of me in the story, but you have to figure that one out on your own.
Q. Is there anything that happens in your stories that you would really like to try in "real life", but haven't yet been able to?
Yes, there are situations I would like to see happening to me....
Q. Does your partner or any of your friends know that you write? What do they think?
My boyfriend knows and he encourages me. As for anybody else? Only two of my friends know and I doubt either of them has read my stories. One of the two also encourages it.
Q. What, if any, difficulties do you face when writing - erotic writing difficulties and general writing difficulties? And how do you overcome them?
My problem is that I don't want to paraphrase or always use the same words to describe things. I read other authors' stories and see what words they use.
Q. How about in more general terms - how do you feel about the "outside world"'s perception of erotic writing?
I think it is still a taboo for most people, especially in the US. But since I am from Europe, I don't have a problem with it
Q. One thing that I love about ES is that you very quickly build up a community of fans, who enjoy writing to and hearing from their favorite authors. Do you have any favorite topics that have surfaced in these "conversations"?
Well, of course the topic is usually sex, but I have also heard from people who tell me about their problems and things that have happened to them, sexually, and not all of it is good.
Q. How do you feel when you receive negative comments or very low votes from readers?
I take it to heart and try to do better next time.
Q. What kind of stories would you never write?
Sex with animals or children; extreme S/M, those are taboo for me
Q. And do you read, and respond to, other writers on the site? Who are your favorites?
Yes I do. I also vote and one of my favorites is Dirk Diggler
Q. Do you remember the first pornography you ever saw?
Yes, I was about 12 years old and found an album with pornographic pictures of my parents! That wasn't something I wanted to see!
Q. What's the kinkiest thing you have ever done?
Had sex in a truck, with the door open, right across from the main Police Station. Thankfully we were done by the time they noticed and sent an Officer over to investigate
Q. Do you have any fantasies that you would like to fulfill?
Yes, I would like to meet the man who can back all his words up with actions
Q. What is a major turn on for you during sex?
I love giving bj's
Q. How about a major turn off?
Pain and watersports
Q. How do you feel about same sex relationships, both personally and as a writer?
I have no problems with it. I have friends that are gay, DQ's and so on. I find it interesting to get their point of view or be able to ask their advice on things.
Q. Do you explore these feelings, positive and negative in your stories?
I think writing about threesomes and multiple couples does express my feelings
Q. How long does it take for you to write a story? Could you talk us through the process?
I usually come up with a story when I go to bed, I ponder it until I fall asleep and when I get up the next day, I write it down. Sometimes it takes me an hour or two, and others it takes me a couple of days.
Q. What do you think is the best story you have published here?
I personally like my "Strangers" story, because it has a little bit of everything and I believ a lot of people can identify with the first part of the story.
Q. Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers of this interview and your fans? Now is your chance...
Yes, thank you for all the messages and the votes. I gladly answer every question and will take suggestions too. If you do give an author a low vote, please at least let that person know why.
Q. Finally, do you have a website or a blog, where your fans can visit and maybe learn more about you?
No, I do not. At least not yet, but it is something to think about in the future
Please read Catwidow's stories.
