Q. How long have you been publishing at ES?

A. Since July of 2007.

Q. What and when was the first story you published here?

A. My first story published here was Desperate. I wanted access to the Fan Club but didn't want to pay for it. I'd been reading stories and checked out the Author's Tools page. I saw that a story only had to have an average score of 7.00 to qualify and thought that maybe I could come up with something.

I am a truck driver with a fairly long local route. Lots of windshield time to come up with ideas and I have a fertile imagination. Some of the time is between radio stations so all there is to do is think -- that and keep the rig between the white lines.

I always check the cars that pass me for attractive women -- like I said, not much else to do. One day, on my way back home, I noticed a woman in a beat up old Volvo slowly passing me. Q. I think they do. What was your most recent one?

A. Another interesting question because, ironically, my most recent story, Crystal Peaks, is also the first story I ever wrote.

When I was driving long-haul, I frequently drove from L.A. to Las Vegas on I-15, typically on my was to Salt Lake City. Out in the middle of nowhere is this road. I didn't include its name in the story because I couldn't find it on a map and I couldn't remember exactly how it was spelled. It was something like Zyzyx. Seriously. How would you even pronounce that? At night, this place is pitch black. It doesn't even warrant a street light at the top of the off ramp to illuminate the stop sign. It's like they're saying, "Nothing happens here so if you blow the stop sign, who the fuck cares?"

But it got me to thinking, "If someone were horny enough, a couple could anything they wanted as long as it wasn't right in the middle of the overpass."

I didn't finish the story then, but it kept banging around in the back of my mind until I realized that it would make a perfect sequel to Desperate.

Q. To begin with, what can you tell us about yourself? Three or four points that will help your fans get to know you a little better.

Q. How much of yourself do you include in your stories?

A. My method of speech and my sense of humor, of course. Also my fantasies and desires.

Problem was that it didn't go far enough and didn't have any setup. If you've read any of my stuff, you know I'm all about setup. Maybe too much. I just don't really like reading stories about people who meet someone and rip their clothes off. I like a story to provide context.

Q. Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers of this interview and your fans? Now is your chance...

A. If you have an idea for a story, take the chance, write it down, put it on the site. The worst that can happen is that no one will like it. But for God's sake, before you start, have an ending in mind. Most of my stories are three parts. A beginning, a middle and an end. The Patio is a single part split into three chapters. Allison's Affair is six parts because that's how long it took to get to the end of the story. These stories with twenty parts are pointless. If I see a story that says part 12/12 I just keep scrolling.
