JayLynn Interview

JayLynn has been publishing at ES since 2000, "although I must admit I have taken writing breaks [years] off between stories." He debuted with a multi section story titled "Cornered"; "a little ditty about threesomes, love, and college girls."

Since then, he has thrilled us with seventeen further stories, "although several of them are multi section ones with sequels or trilogies. I believe there were also a few from the early days that didn't make it to Fan Club, so total – probably around 30-40 stories and one long poem."

Q. What was your most recent one?

A: My most recent submissions are the "Daring Birthday" series. I am up to the second part in the series and I LOVE it. It's the first time I have published anything in about 7 years.

Q. How and when did you begin writing erotic stories?

A: I began writing erotic stories about 16-17 years ago. I believe I started because of ES.com. I found the site, thoroughly enjoyed it, and wanted to pay the wetness forward.

Q. Have you published anywhere other than ES.com?

A: I have a few published on Literotica.com and I keep a poetry site on Allpoetry.com

Q. What is it about writing erotica that you most enjoy?

A: I like getting lost in the visuals I am creating in my head. There have only been a few times I wrote a story that I wouldn't actually get off on. Those stories, I noticed, didn't do as well. So I enjoy creating the visuals and getting off on them. Then I enjoy publishing them and knowing that other people are enjoying my words and my visuals. I think of it as a literary orgy.

Q. What part of writing erotica do you want to get better at?

A: I want to get better at the conveying the descriptions of the background scenery. I would also like to add just a smidge more humor to my in story dialogue.

Q. What is your favorite category to write in, and why?

A: My favorite category is Bi Sexual. I believe that sexuality is fluid. So while, as a lesbian, I tend to write from the point of view of women loving women, I am very open to exploring the pleasure and dynamics of everybody having an all out good time sexually no matter the prescribed gender of the individual on the other side.

Q. What category have you not explored that you would love to publish for?

A: I would love to write Trans and potentially Gay male stories. They are both genres that intrigue me and that I would love to write for them. I feel like they are not really contributed to enough and that when they are done they are approached from a fetishism perspective I don't really enjoy. So, I would love to tackle those, but only if I could do them correctly and as erotically as I try to write everything else.

Q. How much of yourself do you include in your stories?

A: I think a lot of my moral stances are in my stories, but generally speaking not a lot of ME is in the stories. With the exception of one story, that was written about (fictionally) and in tandem with one of my great loves. I'll add that characters named "Jay" usually are based on me. That could me parts of my current personality or traits I wish I had.

Q. Is there anything that happens in your stories that you would really like to try in "real life", but haven't yet been able to?

A: Oh there is plenty. I am 2 years married now, to a woman that doesn't exactly approach the sex and sharing realm of things the way I do. That translates into better stories on ES.com. So I think I will be acting out all of those sorts of fantasies here for the foreseeable future.

Q. Does your partner or any of your friends know that you write? What do they think?

A: Most of my friends, at some point, have read my stories. Plenty of them know about my publishing here. My wife is aware. My friends don't really think much about it. My wife is cool. She frequently inquires about what my vote status is, but that's about it.

Q. What, if any, difficulties do you face when writing - erotic writing difficulties and general writing difficulties? And how do you overcome them?

A: I think I have accepted that when I feel completely fulfilled I have a harder time writing in general. I think that extends to ES.com as well. For erotica it is also hard to write when I am in emotional conflict with an object of my desire. I know that seems like that leaves no space for when I do write, but there is a fine medium line. I don't know how to overcome it or how I have in the past. I literally only write when the words come. For instance, the first two sections of my newest "Daring Birthday" were written in one day and after I woke up that morning with the visuals dancing in my head.

Q. How about in more general terms – how do you feel about the "outside world's perception of erotic writing?

A: I think the world's perception is based on larger societal constructs that are taboo to discuss on a pleasure site. I think that overall like most things erotica is placed in these boxes. By some it is seen as dirty and wrong because it explores sex, sensuality and release. Others pigeon hole it so that you can discuss those things, but they don't want you to express sentiments of love, emotion, and tenderness. I think people's hang-ups stop them from proudly enjoying a delicious and pleasing art form.

Q. One thing that I love about ES is that you very quickly build up a community of fans, who enjoy writing to and hearing from their favorite authors. Do you have any favorite topics that have surfaced in these "conversations"?

A: Honestly there has only been one time that I got into an actual conversation with a "fan." That conversation morphed into a 9 month long distance relationship and the realization of one of the great loves of my life. The original conversation, as I remember it, was extremely simple and sweet. I do remember years ago frequenting the group chat rooms via ES and I must say that those rooms had some of the most intense conversations about sex and the world that I ever remember engaging in.

Q. How do you feel when you receive negative comments or very low votes from readers?

A: I don't remember ever receiving any really negative comments. I do watch the votes section a lot. I think I am lucky that almost all of my stories are averaging over 9.00. I do find myself wondering what happened when they start off at 10 and end up going down. I just chalk it up to everything isn't for everybody combined with the knowledge that someone may cum from my words but may be too busy wiping off to vote. That's how I balance my "crazy" where votes are concerned.

Q. What kind of stories would you never write?

A: I am pretty open to anything I can see in the kink lair that is my mind. However, I am not a violent person so I would never write anything along the lines of violence, anything on the age line – all participants need to be over 18, or anything with animals. Everything else is fair play and I couldn't put a NEVER on it.

Q. Do you remember the first pornography you ever saw?

A: Yes. I was in my early teen years and I was the only girl in a setting with 4 boys. We decided to sneak & watch their dad's porn. They focused on the girl. I focused on the guy's huge cock and trying to figure out how the hell he was going to stuff that huge monster inside of her. He managed pretty well. I remember going home that night wishing the guys and I had tried some of the stuff we saw on screen.

Q. What is a major turn on for you during sex?

A: Laughter. It has to be fun. It can be kinky, too. We can both talk trash, but it also has to be fun. I mean sex is messy, clumsy and not nearly as perfect as we are all obsessed with portraying it. So, when a pussy fart happens if we can't both laugh then we shouldn't be having sex.

Q. How about a major turn off?

A: Stuffiness. I don't like sex that has to be done in a certain place or at a certain time every time. We should be able to do it in the day and at night, downstairs and upstairs, shower fresh and every now and then right when you walk in the door. Restrictions and planned sex remove a lot of the fun from the experience.

Q. How do you feel about same sex relationships, both personally and as a writer?

A: Well I am a prime example of one so I think that answers that pretty well. I will never understand why who I love, am attracted to, and/or decide to fuck matters to anyone outside of my relationship. As a writer I just say if you aren't into, then don't write it and don't read it. Actually that applies to life too. If you aren't into same sex relationships, don't be a part of one...

Q. Do you explore these feelings, positive and negative in your stories?

A: Well yes and no. Since I write from my perspective there are usually undertones. Like it's obvious I don't have an issue. I do not go out of the way to address it though. I am not sure this is the forum to wage political and moral debates. My categories usually line up so that one is aware what one is getting into. So in the end I think any "addressing" of the issue would end up with me just preaching to the choir.

Q. How long does it take for you to write a story? Could you talk us through the process?

A: I see a vision and it works itself out in my head. Once I have that starting point I sit down and begin writing. As I write, the vision becomes clearer and I start seeing more character definition. My goal is always to write so that the reader will see what I see and will take on the life of one of the characters as I do while writing. How long it takes o finish the story (vision) depends on my available time and whether I want to do multiple sections.

Q. What do you think is the best story you have published here?

A: I love them all. My favorite is probably "Great Love Stories" because that is the one I wrote with my great love. My highest rated is "Daring Birthday 2" and it is also my newest. It's a good read and I love the characters, the flow, and the adventures I still see in store for them.

Q. Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers of this interview and your fans? Now is your chance...

A: Just… I love ES.com. Even during the years I wasn't writing I checked in every couple weeks to read and check out videos. I like the community here and the safe space type of feel. I appreciate everyone and anyone that would call his or herself a fan of mine. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for every ready, every click, and every vote. I write the stories because they play like movies in my head, I publish them because I want you to cum with me! ☺
