Medellin has been publishing at ES for just over 2 years, although he had been reading stories on ES for a year or so before that.
"I started to write, but it took a lot of courage to post the first story. But to anyone who has not yet published - Do so! It is a great motivation to know that others are enjoying your stories and you are sharing the pleasure."
His first story here was "A Bottle of Wine shared by 3" in October 2008.
"It was lifted and adapted from an intertwining series of stories that I was writing at the time. It was not very good as it was a bit out of context, but I got a lot of feedback that helped. I will tell you more about that later in the interview."
Since then, he has published about 20 further tales,
"but I have written a lot more and have several unfinished at any one time. I just have to get the stimulation or motivation to finish or write the next part of any of them."
Q. What was your most recent one?
"Train ride to Ecstasy". Something a little different that seems to have worked. I have set a couple of stories in Germany from ideas shared with a German guy with whom I correspond. This time I have used some German slang words like Pimmelrotze which I understand means "Prick snot" and Fotze (cunt). It seems to have attracted some positive comment, so much so that I plan to write a sequel.
Q. Now, is there anything you'd like to tell us about yourself?
I am well educated and articulate guy and run my own business. I have travelled extensively in international business for many years all over the world. I have never seemed to have any problems in meeting women. I always put their pleasure first and that way I get my rewards. I keep my writing anonymous as I am a high profile global player in my industry. I guess the other interesting thing is that I am British, and try to write from a British point of view.
Q. How and when did you begin writing erotic stories?
About 6 months before I published my first story. I started by commenting on other writers stories and got into 3 or 4 exchanges that became longer and longer, more and more erotic. I then copied and pasted the exchanges and found that I had in fact co-authored a couple of stories. That just stimulated me to start to write by myself.
Q. Have you published anywhere other than ES.com?
I have looked at some other sites and read stories. I have registered with a few, but I like to keep it simple. It is only a part of my life and I do it for pleasure - my own and the readers. Writing erotic stories is not a strategic driver for me.
Q. What is it about writing erotica that you most enjoy?
I guess since publishing it is being able to articulate my thoughts on paper and then read them back and then improve on them. I have an outline of a story when I start to write but get most motivated when I uncover a new thought or angle I had not considered at the start of the story. I admit to enjoying describing the characters from my mind and most of all I like to write dirty and for my characters to talk dirty. That I admit is a direct reflection of my own enjoyment of dirty talk during sex - it's a real turn on for me both taking dirty and hearing it dirty.
Q: What is your favorite category to write in, and why?
I guess I like the interplay of characters, so I always try to get a few people involved, sometimes as threesomes, but often by mixing partners during the story. Although I write a lot from experience and the ideas that others share with me, I do like to write fantasy around famous people, especially the ones that turn me on the most.
Q. How much of yourself do you include in your stories?
Depends on the story. Sometimes I base the guys reactions around what I would do or what I would actually think in the circumstances. Many of the stories are at least in part real life experiences I have had the pleasure to enjoy. As I commented above I love the dirty talk it turns me on in real life so I like to include it where I can. I have always pushed the boundaries on what I like in sex and have to say been rewarded with pleasure beyond my expectation many many times.
Q. Is there anything that happens in your stories that you would really like to try in "real life", but haven't yet been able to?
I would certainly like to try group sex a little more. I have had many threesomes and a couple of groups of four, but would like to go further. Certainly one recent story was a fantasy I would love to realize with two young ladies I know well that would be shocked if they knew what I had in mind for them as written in the story. Many of the situations in my stories I have had the pleasure to enjoy at one time or another. Maybe the names and the situations have changed to protect the innocent or not so innocent!
Q. Does your partner or any of your friends know that you write? What do they think?
No. I keep my "Medellin" life separate from real life. I was less than cautious on a swingers site a few years back and found that by a chance in a million I was communicating with one of my employees. When she found out it was me it caused a lot of issues at work. The potential impact on my business was frightening to contemplate and I was lucky to resolve it quickly. Since then it has to be anonymous.
Q. What, if any, difficulties do you face when writing - erotic writing difficulties and general writing difficulties? And how do you overcome them?
I guess the hardest to start with is inspiration. If you do not have the inspiration no matter how much you want to write it just does not flow. I get a lot of inspiration from messages on ES and other sites, with suggestions from other writers or readers. I especially want to thank Puffin, she inspires me with her messages more than any one else. The other dilemma is how long or short to make the story and how much detail. I like detail as it paints a picture but I know there are lots of readers who just want the straightforward hard and frantic sex description. That's not me so I guess my writing will not appeal to them.
Q. How about in more general terms - how do you feel about the "outside world"s perception of erotic writing?
I don't really have an opinion on this. I know it gives me pleasure and I guess a lot of people who write and read on ES and other similar sites. If you don't get it that's not problem, but just leave others to do what they want to do. Live and let live!
Q. One thing that I love about ES is that you very quickly build up a community of fans, who enjoy writing to and hearing from their favorite authors. Do you have any favorite topics that have surfaced in these "conversations"?
I guess they reflect my own taste for mixed relationships. I have noticed that men seem to prefer stories with rough sex and women something softer. But then you might disagree. When I write a story for someone, and I usually acknowledge this, then it reflects their desires - secret or otherwise. I like writing for other peoples desires, I guess the strangest was Roxy who wanted to be fucked by an entire cricket team (Roxy scores with the cricket team). That one was hard to keep going but I got there in the end.
Q. How do you feel when you receive negative comments or very low votes from readers?
Disappointed and frustrated. If it is another writer that's more acceptable, but when you get someone who just gives a 4 or 5 that affects the average score for a story when others are rating it 9 and 10 that is frustrating. Perhaps they should try writing and see how hard it is. I always check to see if they always score low or just did not like the writing.
Q. And do you read, and respond to, other writers on the site? Who are your favorites?
Yes I read a lot and have my favorites. I must admit I like British writers and reading British stories. Without doubt my favorite is Jillbaby. She is a fabulous writer and the collection of personal photos she shares from her genuine past make the stories so real. Also, Mag58 and Juliet Bravo who does not seem to post anymore. Chrissie, your stories are always great. I miss Good Little Girl, she wrote so well and we got into a long series of exchanges and wrote together. I have a long story that we wrote together that I would love to publish, but never without her permission. Finally I commented above on Puffin; short sweet and sexy stories but so erotic.
Q. Do you remember the first pornography you ever saw?
It was a long while ago in the black and white days. A UK magazine called Parade. Way before public hair was permitted. I remember my first visit to a club in London and the first porno movie I saw, one of those California 1960's movies. The first video I bought was called Satin Sheets and a Sci Fi flic that I cannot remember the name of where in the last scene the dumb blond chick gives the robot with the 20ft cock like a hoover tube a handjob and he cums by the bucket load.........
Q. What's the kinkiest thing you have ever done?
Not really sure, I have done anything that I think is kinky.
Q. Do you have any fantasies that you would like to fulfill?
Oh yes Lilly Allen and Twiggy in bed as a threesome, but I guess that might be difficult to make happen. I would like to have the courage to have sex in public, I have had some interesting experiences with a lady I know who likes public sex, we have done it in multi story car parks and other places like that. She is so dirty in restaurants sometimes, taking her knickers off and puling her skirt up under the table. Flicking buttons open on her tops and taking my cock out and playing with it. She is a source of inspiration at times but I would like the courage to go further in public.
Q. What is a major turn on for you during sex?
As I said talking dirty, but also sucking pussy, love the smell and the taste
Q. How about a major turn off?
When she screams out some other guys name, but then I have to admit getting caught doing that myself when I had my eyes closed and was fantasizing
Q: How do you feel about same sex relationships, both personally and as a writer?
I have said before live and let live. I am not into guy/guy stuff, but like a lot of men I get turned on by girl/girl relationships, but only if it is loving and equal. I don't get the dominant/submissive "butch" stuff at all.
Q. Do you explore these feelings, positive and negative in your stories?
I write some girl/girl but not a lot. I think that having two girls who are close can add to a story, especially if I am mixing the partners around and they both get the same man. I see no point in writing from a negative perspective as I am a positive thinker. If it fits or adds to the story I will include it.
Q. How long does it take for you to write a story? Could you talk us through the process?
It varies, it depends on how long or short the story is and if I can sustain the motivation. If I am motivated I will write about an hour a day over 4 or 5 days, then read it back through and change about 20%. I write columns for a number of industry journals and there I will write the 500-100 word column on day 1, then rewrite up to 30% on Day 2 and then finally re read and change a further 5 % before submission. I admit I don't do the last function on ES and that is why there are often typos. Sometimes I have to stop when I get a little too excited.
I travel a lot so sometimes I write on long plane journeys, always a problem when the battery goes mid flow! Recently I was writing on a night flight and when she served breakfast the stewardess (old fashioned word but it makes them more glamorous) commented that she had seen me typing away furiously all night and wondered what was so important. ...If only she knew what I had been writing.
Q. What do you think is the best story you have published here?
I liked this question, it made me go back and review them all. This one was hard and the answer is not just one. I like "The Shy Girl" as it was written for Puffin and she was definitely Mia in the story and we had exchanged a lot about the situation. From my first few stories, I like "Holly goes clubbing", lots of twists and turns and I enjoyed how the story evolved from my first idea. The other two are special. "Pictures of Lily" is pretty obvious. I just have to write one for Twiggy and then finish the trilogy with a threesome......Finally "Mature and Young: Mixing can be fun". It was long, very long, but every person in the story is real: their descriptions, their names and the style of the people, all of which I know one way or another. The initial two young ladies actually do work at the leisure club I use.
Q. Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers of this interview and your fans? Now is your chance...
It took a lot of courage to communicate with you to do this interview, but I am glad I did. I have so enjoyed my erotic writing, I think I am getting better at it, the readers will be the judge. I would welcome more feedback and readers ideas. I would also encourage anyone who want to have a go to have a go. Sometimes the stories go nowhere and you have to stop, then sometimes you go back and pick it up again, just a sudden piece of inspiration.
And finally, please stop giving low scores, If you genuinely think the writing is poor or the storyline crap (Read "The Tooth Fairy" for evidence.....) then have the guts to write and tell.
Q. Finally, do you have a website or a blog, where your fans can visit and maybe learn more about you?
No this is the most I have and will share.
