For the rest of the fall semester Clint and Danae were seemingly inseparable, in public that is. On campus it was unseemly. Most knew about them, but she wasn't a tenured professor.... She didn't even have a masters in education, so the rumors on campus that reached the other profs were conveniently overlooked. They spent Christmas apart, he went to his family and she spent hers alone for the most part. She had visited her estranged father and his family and dropped in for Christmas dinner with her grandfather. But for the most part she spent her holiday holed up in her great grandmothers old house in her birthtown of Cordell.
