A few years ago, my wife and I were friendly with a couple I will call Stuart and Lauren. I took a job back East and tried to keep in touch but while I was away they drifted apart themselves. By the time I returned they had divorced and unfortunately, so had I. I went out with Stuart a few times for beers but he was in a very bad space. I wanted to contact Lauren but for a while, I was afraid of upsetting Stuart.

Finally, we made contact and arranged to have dinner. It was great to see her again. She showed none of the resentment that Stuart had. It was just a relaxing reunion of good friends. Lauren came to my house and we drove into town for a nice dinner. She got admiring glances in her short, black dress as we walked to our table. After dinner, we went back to my house for a nightcap. It was cool but pleasant out, so we sat out on my deck, a little buzzed, laughing and reminiscing. Lauren asked if I still had my hot tub in the lower level. I replied that I did and she asked if we might take our drinks down there so she could warm up. I hadn't planned on that but I said sure. We descended the stairs with our drinks and I uncovered the tub. I stepped into another room to get towels and something for Lauren to wear. All I could come up with was a very large t-shirt but I thought that would be ok, since all four of us used to sit in there nude.
