Where there is smoke, there is fire.

He had been walking though the snow for what seemed like hours but he knew as he glanced at his wrist watch once again it had only been 40 minutes. Managing to carry most of what was on board the broken down snow mobile in his back pack, he tried to make his way toward the smoke billowing up over the trees ahead of him. The snow was now waist deep on his 6 foot frame and it seemed to be getting heavier. Pulling his compass from his pocket he set this sight toward the smoke which was getting very difficult to see as the snow increased, he lowered his head to the wind and pressed on.

"Where there's smoke there's fire," he mumbled as he pictured in his mind a hunter who was lucky enough to find a cave. As he fought his way through the trees that were kind enough to pelt him with more snow, he finally saw a small cabin.

Amazed there would even be a cabin this far up on a deserted mountain, he stood still for a moment trying to comprehend it was real. It was a shabby but very solid and well built wood slat cabin with an old tin roof. Debating for a moment if he had just found another Unabomber, he decides anything is better than freezing to death, but pulls his gun from his backpack just in case.

He tries to knock but with his gloves and the wind howling it was ...
