THE LAW OFFICE - PART THREE

"Mrs Smith is here to see you," Lucy advised me.

I looked up from my work. It was one of those afternoons and I was flat out. Mrs Smith did not have an appointment. Still it was often easier just to see the client straight away even without an appointment. Otherwise they just kept 'phoning and dropping in. I resolved it was just as well to see her.

"Okay Lucy. Tell her I'll be a few moments. I'll come and get her myself."

"Alright Callum," with that Lucy turned and left my office to return to reception.

Lucy was a nice girl soon to turn twenty-one. She was not that bright but she was well meaning and loyal. You could count on her to do anything you told her. Sort of a big puppy dog!

I finished what I was doing and went out to see Mrs Smith. I had spoken to her once on the telephone but had not met her. She had a personal injuries claim for her right knee that was injured in a car accident.
