Normally Dean's wife, Vilate, would help him wash their big, extended van. She was, however, experiencing her period and his woman tended to get really moody, crampy and listless during That Time Of The Month. Unfortunately, none of their four teen-agers was available to help either because they had opted to spend the weekend at their grandparents' houses. He was thus on his own and the van needed washing. So, while Vilate napped inside, after downing a couple of Pamprin, he pulled their large white van out of the garage and parked it in the driveway. He fetched hose, soap and wax and prepared to work. Resigned to his lonesome task, he stripped off his shirt under the hot August sun and turned on the hose.

After about half an hour or so, he was up to his elbows in suds and the van was looking really clean and shiny. The hot mid-afternoon sun felt good on his exposed, muscular torso.

"Hey, Dean!"

He startled when he heard his name called. He looked towards his house, but didn't see Vilate anywhere. Besides, it hadn't sounded like her voice.

"Dean!"

The voice was closer. He turned and saw the woman who lived next door ...
