Some Thanksgivings have more to be thankful for than others do, and this was definitely one of them. Rachel and I had met at a college frat party as sophomores and had been a "regular" item ever since. Living on the West Coast and going to school on the East Coast some times made it difficult to get home for the holidays. The Thanksgiving of our senior year was one of those times. Since Rachel's family lived in upstate New York, she invited me to spend the weeklong break with them. The prospect of hanging out in an empty dorm (I said we met at a frat party, I didn't say I belonged to one...anyway) was pretty rotten, so I of course I was ecstatic.

Rachel was an only child and her Mom was divorced, so it would just be the three of us. Rachel's Mom had given birth to her at the same age Rachel was now. Rachel was magnificent. Intelligent, sophisticated, beautiful, and fucked like a wild woman. There wasn't anything that she wouldn't try at least once, twice if she was drunk!. We were only 21, but I could definitely see a future together. At least until that trip to her house.

We were pretty exhausted when we pulled up the house after the 6-hour drive. And when I say house I should really say mansion. This thing was huge. I knew Rachel had some money in her background, but I had no idea just how much. All this house for just the two of them, plus ...
