The neon green ball whizzed inches over the net as another one hurled out of the machine across the court. Lavinia checked the remote attached to her mint green tennis skirt. It said she had hit over 500 of the neon balls and she felt every one she hit in her legs and arms. Sweat dripping down her back and between her breasts, her long curly auburn ponytail hanging limply beneath her visor, she plopped down on the bench.

"That's it!" She murmured to herself between gulps of water " I have prayed enough to the athletic gods and now I deserve a sauna!" Gathering her things, Lavinia marched into the club and smack into a very muscled chest.

"Oh pardon me!" She lifted her visor so she could peer underneath with her emerald eyes. When she saw who it was, she regretted her apology.

"Why Vin Beckett! How nice to see you beautiful!" Jeremiah English's warm southern drawl seem to just rumble right out of his chest.

"The name is Lavinia thank you very much!" Lavinia shot him a glare. Only her friends called her Vin and this idiot, even though she had known him since high school, wasn't even considered her acquaintance.
