This (true) story starts when I was out of work and was looking for a job when I came across an ad for managers for a new store in a small local department store chain. I showed up for the interview and to my suprise, I was hired on the spot. It was determined that I would manage the operations of 4 medium sized departments, one of them being jewelry. When the hiring process for all the employees was over, the assignments to the different departments took place.
