Part III: Well here we go with the last chapter in the Great Lakes Story, but sadly it has to come to an end, for I was transferred shortly after Part III. But on to the next true story occurring onboard the USS Tarawa, LHA-1 in the continuing true to life stories from military life................

Part III begins with me finally settled into this huge house and having my first tennant who turned out to be a God send, far from the initial encounter under which we first met, Mr. Green eyes, Chip as I called him, was truly something out of the blue that was totally unexpected and very much welcomed at that time.......I thought.

Turns out, the partner that was Chips roommate was to be more trouble down the road, but fortunately did not come to any other blows other than the initial one that I landed on his jaw in the bowling alley that day. Seems, it turns out, he did not have the backing that he thought he had from the other people he was associated with and this turned out to be a distinct detriment to him as you will see....

Well, the first night, the second night and finally the third night came around with just me and Chip in the house having had our welcome to off base living initiation concluded, we got about the business of trying to rent the vacant rooms to single Navy personnel who wanted off the base. We advertised in the local newspaper and also mouth to mouth on base. ...
