I graduated from high school last spring. But the story i have for you happened about midway through the last year of school.

I had my click of friends...and being guys...we got into our share of trouble. Let me say that i am average, not a stand out or anything. I am 5'7", brown hair, blue eyes, medium build and at that time a little shy. The guys I ran with, each alone were nothing, but together we got noticed.

Shelly was a grade behind us, but was our age as she had been held back for poor grades. Now I am one that notices nice things, but fail to act on what I notice. Shelly was a very pretty girl. She was about 5'5" with long brown hair, and bluish grey eyes. Nicely put together was my thought, as i looked at her that day. I had noticed Shelly several times through high school, but I also knew she had one thing that warned me to not get really friendly with her. She was a daddy's girl and "daddy" had lots of influence in our community.

It was friday and we had a baskeball game with our rivals 30 miles away. They were coming onto our court. During the game, I noticed several times that Shelly and a couple of other girls were going in and out of the gym.
