The Punishment Room

Karen and her cousin Chris pulled the car into the drive and turned off the engine. Chris had been visiting Karen for the last two days and had another two weeks before she was supposed to go home. Both Karen and Chris were twenty-four, both were five foot, eight inches, and both had honey blonde hair that reached their shoulders. They had grown up together and, being the same age, had been very close. Because of their similar looks they had often been mistaken for sisters and sometimes still were. The major difference was Karen's deep blue eyes and Chris's emerald green eyes flecked with gold. They each had slim, well proportioned figures and both showed the effects of regular workouts. Although Karen had been married the past three years and Chris was still single, the two saw each other several times a year with one or the other coming to visit for a week or so at a time.

It was past eleven thirty on a Friday night and Karen could see that her husband, Mike, had his car parked in the garage. There was only a single dull light showing through the house windows and Karen guessed he was in the family room. Karen smiled to herself. She knew she was supposed to have gone out to dinner with Mike and a business client he was entertaining, but she had left a note telling him she and Chris had decided to spend the night out.
