[Ron's Journal] February 3: Long time since writing anything here. Last entry was about Janie's birth, and now she's mostly through kindergarten. Justin's in third grade. Tad's a sophomore in college, so now I'm paying most of his tuition directly instead of through child support checks. Took a long time to find the journal--forgot where I hid it.

Seems like the only time I'm interested in writing here is when some big life-changing event is underway. So why do I feel the need now? I can't even say there's anything happening, let alone anything big

Going back through I see a few entries about Justin being born. Before that marrying Jenny and all the hell we went through before Justin was born and everybody settled into being a family. Couple of years before, meeting Jenny and leaving Sue. Lots of entries there. The conflicts with Sue, and how they left me numb and open to anything. Then that night Sue was too angry about bathtub scum to go on the church camp out, and I ended up in Jenny's tent. Sex with Jenny, pages about sex with Jenny, all night, every night. Probably 95 percent of the sex we've had in 10 years packed into those few months after the tent.

Am I wanting to go down that road again? This time I can't say my marriage has already fallen to pieces. Life is pretty good. We're friends. We're good parents. My career is solid. Jenny has even knocked off a few pounds and is talking about going dancing again when the blue ...
