The Butterfly Rub (a.k.a. A Clever Cricket Part Two)

The next day about mid-morning I went out to finish up my outside chores before it got too hot and to free myself to enjoy the Braves game after lunch. I had a sprightly spring in my step as the cricket event of the previous day had been quite exhilarating and then the evening telling of the story to my wife, Babs, had resulted in one of our more pleasurable evenings in quite some time. So it was with a big smile that I went next door to try yet again to reacquire my edger.

Jean came to the door almost as soon as I had knocked with her own cat-ate-the-canary grin stretched across her face. She said, "I suppose that you are looking for your edger once again." She had a teasing lilt to her voice, I assume due to our shared intimacy and secret.

I felt like we were members of some secret club, and despite not knowing her very well that I could tell her almost anything. I decided to tease her a bit so I replied, "No, actually I was looking for my pet cricket. I have spent years training that blasted insect and he got away yesterday."
