You ever wake up with a smile on your face? That memorable Memorial Day morning, I did. And why not, I had experienced one of the most amazing evenings in my lifetime the preceding night and my brain must have played back highlights all night.

After Jean had popped off of me to retrieve the magnum of Champagne, the rest of us returned to a somewhat upright position sitting in the den floor. Jean was back quickly with the bottle and glasses and we toasted each other repeatedly. I am not quite sure how many glasses of Champagne we had as Jean never let our glasses get to the empty stage. The carbonated wine on top of the earlier margaritas might not have been a good idea, but at least it was spread out over an extended evening. Once the last drop of the Champagne had been poured and consumed, everyone seemed to sense that it was time for some rest.

Jean being the gracious host lead Babs and I down the hall and showed us the guest bedroom and then back down the hall a bit to indicate the guest bathroom. Babs and I stood with our arms around each other's waists as Jean followed Bill down the hall to the master bedroom. We watched as the door opened and two of them walked in without closing ...
