Jeff cursed quietly as the traffic in front of him slowly lurched forward. Friday night commuting was always the worst. His hands were sweaty, and he felt his heart beating wildly within his chest. Flipping through the radio presets, he hoped to find a song to help take his mind off the impending night ahead. Cursing again, he wished he hadn't made that bet. Debby was a diehard Patriots fan, and he really thought the Panthers could beat them. Pounding his fist against the steering wheel only made his hand hurt. As the throbbing in his hand subsided, his mind wandered through the events of the past months that had lead up to this night.

Debby and Jeff had been married for over five years. Their lives had settled into a routine, similar to what happens with many other married couples, Jeff surmised. They had put off having kids until their careers were stabilized. As the months ticked away, and the mortgage slowly decreased, their everyday lives had developed into what he thought was quiet contentment. He couldn't have been more wrong.

His first indication of something amiss was when he happened to open a text file on their computer. With every sentence he read, the panic intensified until his hands were shaking. He pushed the print button, and confronted Debby when she walked through the door. They yelled and argued with each other over the next three days. He was unable to understand why she needed to talk about such things with other men, and she couldn't understand why he was so upset over a few words exchanged ...
