Sommer and Guy have been emailing each other regularly since he decided to take a teaching position at an art school in San Francisco. An internship, really, but after one semester he has his own class, a beginning figure drawing class. It's not really his strong suite, but he likes to draw, especially charcoal, and he's very good with the students, so he enjoys it.

His phone rings, just before the class is to begin; it's his model for the session, one of his favorites, she can't make it today, but she's sending someone to take her place, not to worry, all will be fine. And she's gone.

In a rush now, Guy heads for the classroom, checks attendance, which is easy since everyone is in their usual spot. It's not uncommon for the class to begin as soon as the model appears; they can do random poses until Guy arrives and has them either continue with what they're each doing, or assigns a pose. Sometimes it's a long pose of several minutes, sometimes it's quick poses, a minute or less at a time.
