A Sandman Christmas

Cindy snuggled up next to her husband on the couch. The soft lights of their Christmas tree combined with the flickering warmth of the fireplace, their only source of lighting. It was perfect. And...it was Christmas Eve.

"Do you believe in Magic?" Brian asked her.

"Magic? You mean like slight of hand tricks, disappearing women turning into tigers? That sort of thing?"

Brian laughed, hugging Cindy closer to him. She smiled. She loved hearing him laugh. He hadn't laughed much this past year. It had been a hard one, for both of them. For a time, Cindy wondered if they'd even survive it, if their marriage would survive it.

"Not exactly," he said finally. "More like the supernatural kind of magic. Something that exists, but only if you believe in it."
