I owned a small sandwich shop in the middle of a very old town square, in a town that had seen better days. Since my shop was the only establishment that served lunch at a very reasonable price and delivered, my business was quite popular. I enjoyed the customers I had, along with most of my staff.

When I first bought the business, I knew that to make any money, I had to increase sales. After a while, I decided that by offering a daily lunch special to the area factories and offering to deliver in time for their lunch hour, I could increase revenue without taking up seats in the dining room. I invited several of the factory owners over for lunch and discussed my idea with them. To sweeten the pot for them, if they allowed me to deliver to their shops, the owner's lunches would be free.

All of the owners agreed that this would be a fair deal. All I asked was that one of their staff to either call in everyone's order each morning, or fax it in. Each day I offered a different sandwich special and provided an order form for each to use. My business increased substantially.
