New Beginnings

When Roger invited me out for a night on the town, I had no idea that it would end up the way that it did. He had been a lifetime friend so I'm sure he was trying to bring me out of my melancholy. I had been recently divorced and had been pretty morbid I must admit during the previous few weeks.

I was very appreciative that he thought so much of me that he would try to brighten my day. Roger was one of the best and I could always rely on him for support if I was ever in trouble. Even so, I was quite smitten that he had taken some time out from his family life to spark up my spirits.

We met after work and he took me to a restaurant in the heart of the city. Having separate alcoves it provided an appropriate venue where we were able to talk privately without others hearing me spill my emotions about my marriage break up. Roger had a very sympathetic ear and he let me ramble on allowing me to get so many things off my chest that I had not been able to do with anyone else.
