The common hall of the lower buildings was filled to half capacity with the 90 or so student mages who resided at the tower ranging in age from around 6 years, to as old as 30. Master Archmage, Ardansal himself was giving a demonstration, and accompanying lecture while the half dozen archmages and 19 loremasters watched and kept their students under control.

He was creating a construct of pure electricity, explaining step by step as he went. Only a couple of times during his lecture did he allow his gaze to travel to Nerial in the second row of desks. He had not yet told anyone else of their relationship, as she'd insisted he give her no special treatment because of it. However he knew a couple of the archmages suspected, but did not mind. He hoped.

Finally the construct was complete, and he approached the podium to present his closing address. "As you can all see, while at its roots, the creation of a construct is fairly simple, the intentional complications of the weavings, assure that the process is more or less safe. This particular creation will be sealed inside a wand, and put into storage for use in the case of this school's or national defense."
