After I opened the door, I put my arms behind Sarah's shoulders and knees, picked her up and carried her through. I laid her down on the bed. The headboard was at my left, and one side of the bed was bolted to the wall. I looked at the sun setting outside our window.

Sarah looked at the same view and asked, "Tell me now, Jay. Where are we going?"

"Everywhere and nowhere," I answered. "I've booked us on a rail cruise through the countryside. We don't have to worry about getting anywhere on time, because we'll be rooming in this cabin from start to finish."

Sarah was sitting up. She had removed her veil and was reaching behind her back to try to unbutton her dress. "A little help, please?"

"Gladly, dear. I'll do anything that results in you having less clothing on." She turned around on the bed, and I undid the pearly-white buttons on her gown. She shook the dress off her shoulders, and I helped pull it over her arms.

"Yes, I know you will. That's why my dress has extra room in the stomach," she said wryly as she turned to face me again.

"That was your idea," I reminded her.
