I got the e-mail from Jane the day after I posted her story. She wanted to know what I looked like before agreeing to meet: how old, how tall, weight, hair colour - even my shoe size. I replied quickly trying not to lie too much. Five minutes later I had a reply - it was short and to the point - lunchtime, Monday at a bar on George Street. She did not want to go to the Hilton. And bring the money.

As a sat in a booth at the back of the bar sipping a whisky I wondered if her nerve would hold this time - she had got as far as the bar before.

At 1pm on the dot a woman entered the bar, she was on her own and had blonde shoulder length hair, maybe 30, nice body and wearing a blue business suit with a skirt that fell just above the knee and low heels. She looked around and then fished a cellphone from her shoulderbag. It had to be Jane.

A second later my cellphone started to ring. I stood up and took a step out of the booth waving to her and holding up the ringing phone. This time she didn't chicken out - she came straight over and joined me in the booth. The bar she had chosen was much more suitable than the one at the Hilton.
