The evening started like most other evenings for the club with people starting to arrive around 7 pm. As usual the first to arrive was Mary and she was followed shortly thereafter by Jane. The difference was that this was the first meeting that was hosted at Sarah's house. Marion, one of the few unmarried ladies in the group arrived just before 8 pm. The house was a large double storey in a middle class suburb. Quiet impressive from the outside although it was not the only double storey in the street. Sarah had everything prepared downstairs in the living spaces of the house. Sarah greeted Marion at the door and immediately offered Marion a choice of beverages. Marion sunk into one of the single couches in the main lounge and struck up a conversation with Jane. Light music played in the background and aromatic smells wafted in from the kitchen. All of the girls had arrived by just after 8 pm and they all proceeded to settle down in the main lounge with drinks in their hands. Sarah rushed into the kitchen to complete the final preparation for dinner. There was a brief commotion at the base of staircase to the second floor of the house and four kids burst into the lounge to confront the guests.
