Adventures in a New Home By Sam

As I entered my modest row house (the rich Yuppies call them townhouses, which adds an easy $5000 to the selling price), in the historic part of Baltimore, I noticed that the house was very warm. The central air conditioning which had been on its last legs had apparently had met its demise. Since it was the early part of July, and what with the East Coast’s humidity, I immediately started removing clothes. I had already had a very hard day as a para-legal’s assistant (GOFER, for a know it all for a smart ass bitch that slept her way to her position). The last thing that I needed was another major expense. I picked up the day’s mail and just set it aside as I opened all the windows, turned a few fans on and changed into cut offs and a tee shirt.

I went to my back yard which has a nice shady spot; and accompanied with a cold beer, I began to read through the mail. Most were the usual monthly bills which would all take their turn being paid. Even though my job paid me a nice salary, as a single person I did have a tendency to overspend. Then my eyes were diverted to a letter from a law firm, which coincidentally, I had sent a resume recently. But when I looked ...
