Prologue:

"Look out!"

Ursula hadn't meant to shout, it was a gut reaction when she saw the headlights breaking through the heavy snowfall... coming straight at them! Her arm flew out to brace against the dashboard as Chris swore roughly and cut the wheel hard to the left. The icy road betrayed them, despite the four wheel drive of Chris' truck, and Ursula uttered a thin scream as she felt the truck's front end dip sickeningly over the embankment. It was only a two foot drop, the most the suffered was a jarring bump as the truck slid the rest of the way over the edge before sending them into a stomach churning sideways slide. After about ten feet the truck finally came to rest, sputtering in a rough idle.

She couldn't move, couldn't do anything more than stare wide eyed at Chris as he quickly unbuckled his seat belt. Oh god... Her breath was hitching in her throat, her olive green eyes welling up with frightened tears. She tried to fight them back, not wanting to cry, but as she felt him unbuckle her belt as well and haul her against him, they tore loose, shaking her body as she clung to him.
