Inadequate

Estrella felt as though she were in a dream world. Two days had passed since her first experience with Vincent and she was positively glowing. Everything was a reminder of their time together, everything conjured images of the evening... from the way her garments covered her skin in the hands of a servant to casual contact with her hand when taking an offered tray.

She couldn't wait for the next time with him.

Nothing was an adequate distraction for her. It was worse than the moments before she was to share Vincent's bed. At least then the anticipation had a time line. She was at the mercy of his whim... the next time he wanted her though it couldn't possibly be years again... more akin to days surely. Yearning drove her through the days.
