The two girls were training to be teachers and this was their first week of teaching practice. They would teach real classes of real children. They had been assigned a school in a small town in the east of the state and were sharing a large bedroom rented from an old woman who lived walking distance from the school. There was not much in the room apart from two beds, two desks and an old black and white TV.

Lucy looked at Jasmine. She was completely contrast to herself. For a start she was black and just over six feet tall. She was very thin, long-legged and almost flat-chested. "Well, we are going to be sharing a room for two weeks, so I suppose we should get to know each other." Lucy pulled a bottle of vodka from her suitcase, and put two shot glasses on the table between their beds. She filled the glasses and the two girls drank.

"So what do you want to know about me?" Lucy asked.
