Ella Stamen was one of the few single females in Todd's research complex. She was tall, slim and only mildly busty. Her dark brown eyes glowed with intense intelligence. Her flowing dark green hair testified to her ancestry at the Procyon colony. Apparently they have a great deal of copper in their environment including the indigenous fruit and vegetable varieties. Ella was a research technician about three grades above Todd so she was the one he had to report to when projects were being monitored. To be sure the computers did most of the actual work and analysis but like anything else, these complex machines needed to be checked against previous results or double-checked for any errors in either the programming or the molecular evaluation functions.

She was sitting as usual, at her white plastic form desk checking some reports when she saw Todd hovering nearby obviously wanting to ask her something. Her voice was crisp and curt. "Yes Todd, what is it?"

Todd noted her clipped tone and disinterested manner. The only thing that might have given her away were those intense eyes that for the briefest moment looked at him with undisguised greed.
