Harvey and Maggie held each other afterwards, after both of them had lost all control for the third time, despite telling themselves they would not let it happen again. Both had figured that a full four days apart would get the fever out of their systems. Now it seemed as if the fire was going to bank brighter, and hotter. It was like the devil's paintbrush that came back year after year. Like the dandelion - if you didn't get the whole root, a new tougher dandelion sprouted, and in no time that dandelion had multiple heads and threatened to cover the yard.

Maggie thought briefly about the name, "dandelion." Someone had once told her that it meant "lion's tooth" in French - "dent de lion." Right now, it seemed a good symbol for the insatiable, irrepressible thirst of the hunter, the huntress, wondering what the next move might be.

Harvey broke the silence by saying, simply, "That was amazing.... You're amazing."

Maggie stroked her lover's chest, thinking it really ought to be the last time she did this.

Harvey said, "I shouldn't be asking this, but... let's spend the rest of the night together. I'll make us a good supper, then let's get a movie or something." Maggie thought, wavering in her resolve, "Hmm, that would be nice..." but she remembered with a jolt that she'd promised to ...
