Robin Loxley otherwise known as Huntington caught up with the small force that Wilfred had acquired in Ashby. Robin heard how Essex had been ambushed, with many of his guards slain and Rowena taken like some alien battle prize. In fact it was Robin and some of his men that helped track the perpetrators of such vile, unlawful acts.

While they stopped near a strea m to fill their water skins they rested for a few moments. Wilfred asked, "So Robin where think you these miserable bastards went?"

Robin gave Ivanhoe a distant look as he reflected on the possibilities. "I'm not completely sure but I suspect that they head for the castle of Francois DeButt."

Wilfred blanched at the thought. DeButt was known throughout the kingdom for his cruelty and love of vice. Tale after tale emerged of his insatiable lust for young, lovely girls no matter what station or degree. DeButt's bastard children were as plentiful as the stones of a hearth. His desire for ripe, firm young juicy girls was the talk of several counties. DeButt was definitely the butt of many bawdy jokes from Nottingham even to far away London. Wilfred shuddered to think his precious Rowena was now the captive of such a disreputable man as that.
