Marissa stared longingly at her phone on the desk, almost willing it to ring. Just to hear his voice would make her day, her week. Five long weeks had crawled by since that hot, sexual night with Mitch and she hadn't heard from him at all. Not that she had expected to, but she had lived in hope.

Shaking her head, she looked down at the files on her desk, sorted them in order of importance and started to pick up the phone. The knock at her cubicle startled her and she dropped the phone back in its cradle.

"Sorry Marissa." her Manager, David Sinclair said, sitting on her desk. "I didn't mean to startle you."

"Oh, it's okay David," Marissa replied, facing her boss. "I was just going to call some vendors about these files. How can I help?"

"I need you to prepare a presentation about our Accounts Department and Protocols and then, and this is the kicker, I need you to present it in Darwin at the Manufacturing Conference next fortnight." David said, smiling at her. "I'll help you of course, but this is an opportunity for you to shine Marissa."

Surprised that he had chosen her over all the other members of his team, all Marissa could do was nod her head and smile.
