The path that Alyse moved along zigzagged through the dense patch of forestry that this particular area of the Wunderlend Academy campus was, for some reason, covered in. The branches in front of her that jutted out over the grassy pathway from the bushes and trees planted on either side of it began to peel back and move out of her way as she walked, revealing a few feet more of the trail that she was on with every step that she took through the thick brush. Reveling at the sight of the strangely inviting effect, Alyse's first thought was that the wind should claim responsibility for what she was witnessing, but the feeling that the motion of the vegetation was in direct response to her continued movement refused to abandon her.

Alyse stopped walking. She held still and waited to see if the dangling branches in front of her would react while she remained motionless. For a moment the leafy green obstructions held their pose; gently bobbing back and forth on the soft cool breeze. Then, without her barely moving a muscle, every stick of leaf and wood in front of her peeled back to reveal the rest of the trail and the small clearing that lie just ahead, at the center of which was a cottage encompassed by a short wooden fence.

No more peculiar than any of the other strange occurrences that she'd bared witness to today, she thought as she hunched her shoulders and continued forward.
