Hi, my name is Kristen, although most of my friends call me Kris. I'm a 46 year old married woman with two kids, a 24 year old daughter and a 21 year old son. My husband, Jeff, and I were married the summer after I graduated from college. I posted my first story about two years ago and several more shortly after that, but things have been busy and it has been a while since I have written a new episode, so here it is.

My husband, Jeff, and I were married the summer after I graduated from college. When our kids were young, Jeff worked as an engineer with a large manufacturing company and was doing well in his job. In fact, shortly before our son entered first grade, he got a nice promotion and a fairly large pay raise to go along with it. I had gone back to work full time as a human interest column writer for our local newspaper when our son entered preschool, and was recently promoted to Features Editor, which also brought with it an increase in salary.

Because we lived in a small Cape Cod that we bought when my daughter was about six months old and it was getting pretty cramped with two kids running around, we decided it was time to look for a larger place. We looked at several of the new housing developments going up on the outskirts of our town and some of them were quite attractive, but we remembered what my sister and her husband went through when they bought a new home in a development.
