To Jenna - Chapter 6

Here I was on a date with my best friend Kristy, her boyfriend Steven, and his friend he worked with from out of town Rich. I tried to keep quiet during the short ride from the North Hills of Pittsburgh downtown to our dinner date at a nice steakhouse. Rich seemed like a quiet guy, and it helped, as we watched and listened to Steven and Kristy's charismatic conversation since we left her apartment. We were now at our table sitting down for dinner. The guys sat across from each other, as did the girls. I was still thinking about how forward Rich was, by holding my hand after he took it to help me out, and holding it as we walked in. I had barely known him 20 minutes. The conversation then broke down with Steven and Kristy chatting and Rich focusing on me. Kristy and Tina had made me up the part as a passable female, now it was up to me to play the part. Rich asked, with a smile, ‘so what do you do for a living Jenna?' I was kind of surprised by his question. Not about where I worked, but about how he addressed me.... Jenna. Apparently, this is the name that Kristy had told them my name was. I had actually not even thought about that part and we did not even discuss it. I have no idea where the name ‘Jenna' came from, but I had to go with it, especially since my real name was a very male name.

I replied ‘I work as a server at the same hotel as Kristy and Tina.' Rich replied ‘do you like it?' I noticed Kristy looking over at me and giving me a dirty look, and apparently she was listening in. I didn't ...
