Melanie looks in the mirror, inspecting the way her body was changing each day. She missed seeing her slender figure but was not unhappy about. Five months had passed since she discovered she was pregnant and has just started wearing maternity. Having an amniocentesis done on the baby, she and Tommy had just learned that they were having a girl and she has been busy preparing the both the NYC apartment and the house by turning one of the bedrooms into a pink and white nursery. She has been shopping on a daily basis and buying two of everything so that the nurseries are identical. Tommy finds this funny, but doesn't comment. Ever since becoming pregnant, Melanie's hormonal mood swings are unpredictable and he sometimes feels the brunt of them.

Tommy loved that Melanie was out of her first trimester. No more throwing up for one thing, and Melanie was constantly wanting to make love at night and the morning. He wasn't complaining especially since she was usually riding him. He knew as time went on, they would have to get more creative when it came to positions.

As happy a time this was, Tommy and Melanie still had to deal with the baby Caitlin was carrying. He was worried about that more than he let on.
