Beach Music

DeAnna was thankful to be home, watching the seagulls perform their antics from the window of her Monterey, California house. Maybe later in the day she would walk the beach and feed them popcorn while basking in the fresh breezes and sands of the Pacific Ocean. But for now, all she wanted to do was to throw on a t-shirt, stretch her delicious little body out on her sofa, gaze out the window, and sort out the past week.

The deal got closed in Seattle - the bulge in the client's pants had proven to be the good omen DeAnna had hoped it would be. She found a contractor up there that would be able to handle the grunt work; she had worked out most of the design details while flying back home. After landing, she found her Corvette and, instead of taking inland Highway 101 route, decided to head home by way of Santa Cruz, picking up Highway 1 there and cruising the seaside route back home.

On the glass top table next to the sofa sat a single rose, slightly faded, but still with its scent. DeAnna looked at it and smiled, reflecting on the weirdly wonderful events that occurred after hours at the Mayflower Park Hotel in Seattle.
