"The next trip to Earth leaves in ten minutes. Aren't you going home for the long weekend?" Dr. Daniel Jackson asked as he walked into my lab on the Alpha-site.

"No. I've never been a big fan of the Fourth. Plus it is so much more peaceful here."

He let out a small laugh. "I know what you mean. It feels almost silly to be celebrating the country's independence when there's no day to celebrate Earth's."

"Yeah." Just being around him made me nervous. Not only is he a legendary member of SG-1, but he is also brilliant and gorgeous to round things out.

"Well I'll let you get back to your work."

"Hey." It was now or never. "I was going to grab lunch and go exploring, if you'd like to join me."

"You mean like a picnic?" He smiled.

"Yeah I guess." That smile was like kryptonite.
